Fabrics of Identity | St James Quarter Exhibition

As the St James Quarter reopened in Edinburgh, there was a pop-up gallery commissioned to be on display on the top floor from multiple local artists and designers. The brief was to capture the culture of the city in which this new building was a part of. I was pleased to champion the football culture within the city and draw upon the colours, patterns and fabrics which Hearts and Hibs identify so strongly with across this 5 panel submission.

The original 5 panel display was removed from the quarter due to some grafitti from fans from the opposing teams. I enjoyed the fact that this exhibition provoked response and added to the culture of the rivalry between Hearts and Hibs fans in the city. I was pleased afterwards to reporpuse elements of this work to go on display at The Leith Collective at Fort Kinnaird where it can still be seen today.
